PHOENIX

Created for
Guys and St. Thomas's
Rehab unit in Lambeth.

Following having his left leg amputated  in 2021 Jeff spent time in a Guys and
St. Thomas's Rehab unit
in Lambeth. While there,
staff expressed interest in a previous Phoenix sculpture
so Jeff decided to create
a new piece for the garden
of the Unit.

A large section of Cedar of Lebanon was obtained from
Rob Bradstock who also
delivered and installed the finished piece. Because of
other health issues the
sculpture took over 3 years
to finish but was finally
installed in June 2025.
With its message "Rise"
and the fact that it was
created by an amputee,
it  gives a message of
hope and encouragement
for those undergoing rehabilitation.

The size and scale of the
piece made it very
demanding for Jeff
and he was greatly
encouraged
and aided by his friend,
the artist and carver
Arthur Demowbray."
